Can I install Unbound products on my Kindle Fire?

I want to transfer a product from my old device to a new Android phone. How can I do this?

To transfer products you must have an active subscription. Users with expired subscriptions must renew the subscription to transfer it to a new device. Unbound products are licensed for use on one device at a time.

If you have purchased a product from the Unbound Medicine store, please refer to the application’s website. Then, log in to the site and click the “Mobile” link located in the upper right corner of the page. Then, press download software.

Users who have purchased through the Android Market and need to reinstall should visit the Android Market on a device to download again.

Can I purchase Unbound Medicine products from the Android Market?

Yes, the easiest way to download an app for your Android phone is to purchase it from the Android Market on your phone. Search for Unbound Medicine in the Android Market for a complete listing of all our products.

Note: Customers who are using an Android device on the AT&T network must purchase all applications through the Android Market on the device. AT&T restricts all downloads outside of the Android Market. If you have already purchased a product from the Unbound Medicine store, please contact Support.

How do I enable WiFi on my Android phone?

1. Please make sure you are in a WiFi hotspot
2. Press the menu button
3. Select settings
4. Select Wireless controls or Wireless & networks
5. Press the WiFi button
6. Your device will confirm that WiFi has been turned on

I am trying to install an app on my Android phone and received the message, "Install Blocked for security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in Android Market." What should I do?

Note: Customers who are using an Android device on the AT&T network must purchase all applications through the Android Market on the device. AT&T restricts all downloads outside of the Android Market. If you have already purchased a product from the Unbound Medicine store, please contact Support.

After you receive this message press the "Settings" button on the phone. This will take you to the Application Settings page. The first option will be "Unknown Sources." Place a check mark in the box to the right. The check mark will turn green. Press "OK" when prompted. The device is now ready to download software.

How do I create a username and password for my account?

Once a purchase has been completed, a confirmation page will appear on your desktop or laptop. You will notice a link that asks you to activate the account. From this link you will create the username and password, which will allow you to complete the download to your device.

If you should miss this link or prefer to create this information at a later time, please refer back to the registration email. This email is sent once the purchase is complete, and contains a link to register your account. If this does not work please contact Support for assistance.

How do I update the content in my Unbound Medicine application?

On your Android device, open the Unbound Medicine application. From the main screen, press the menu button, then select "Update."

How do I delete and reinstall the software on my Android device?

Before reinstalling the software, it must be removed from the internal memory and the program’s data must be removed from the storage card.

Start by deleting the application from the memory card. Please connect the device to the computer using the USB cable supplied with the phone.

  • Drag down the notification on the top of the screen
  • On the notifications menu select "USB Storage/Connected"
  • Select "Mount"
  • On Desktop an Auto Play window will appear.
  • Select "Open Folder to View Files."
  • Find the Storage card folder and delete the Unbound Folder

To delete from the device:

Disconnect the device. In Settings, select "Applications," then "Manage Applications." Finally, delete the application.

I received a message that states "Account in use." Who should I contact?

This message is generated when the software has been installed on more than one device. Please contact the Unbound Medicine support team to resolve this matter.

Installation

Learn about downloading, registering, and activating your Android product.

Registration

Begin the registration process here using your computer.

After registering, you will receive a welcome email that contains your username and password.

Download and Installation

The registration email you received contains detailed instructions on how to download your product. To begin, point your Android browser to the web address in the email and follow the instructions for downloading.

If you no longer have your registration email, visit the software download page.

Product Activation

When you open the application after downloading, you’ll be prompted to enter your username and password. These can be found in the registration email sent by Unbound Medicine Registration. Depending on the speed of your wireless network, downloading the data may take a few minutes.

While installing, we recommend using a WiFi connection instead of a cellular network connection, as it will enable faster downloading. You can turn on your WiFi connection within your Android Settings application.

Once you have purchased and downloaded the application, it will appear in the Download History screen in your Android web browser. Tap it to begin installation.

You will see a list of permissions that the application requires to work properly.

Launching the Application

Launch the application by selecting the Applications tab at the bottom of your Android desktop. Tap the application icon to open it. Your Android-based device allows you to navigate in either Touch or Non-touch mode. In Touch mode, simply tap or touch the screen with your finger to navigate. In Non-touch mode, use the trackball.

Home Screen

The home screen displays your available content. Some applications contain more than one content channel. If so, open the desired resource by selecting it from the list.

Syncing

We recommend that you sync your device often to ensure that you have the most up-to-date content. To sync your device, return to the application’s home screen. Select "Menu." Then, select "Update."

Jump To

To find an entry quickly and to avoid scrolling through an entire index, use the Jump To feature. From the Index screen, tap the "Jump to..." text box located just above the device Menu tab. Begin typing the word you want to find. The list will automatically scroll to the location in the index that matches the characters you type.

Favorites

The Unbound™ Platform allows you to mark important information as a Favorite so you can return to it easily at any time. To view a list of your favorite records, tap the Favorites entry at the top of your list of resources on the home screen. (You must have at least one favorite for the Favorites entry to appear.)

Note: Tapping on the application icon will bring up a list of available content and your Favorites.

To create a Favorite, navigate to the record you’d like to save. Select "Menu." A second menu listing will appear offering several options. Select the "Add Favorite" button (with star icon).

To remove a Favorite, return to the record you want to delete. Select "Menu." Tap the star icon labeled "Remove."

You may also remove a record from your main Favorites screen. From your main list of Favorites, click and hold the record you would like to delete. A box will appear giving you the option to either open that record or remove it. Select "Remove" favorite to delete it from your list.

Cross Links

Unbound Medicine’s Cross Links feature enables you to access related content across an application.

This feature will only appear when linked resources are available. If a linked resource is available, you’ll see the Cross Links icon (opposite pointing arrows) appear in the tool bar at the bottom of the screen.

Tap the icon and you’ll see a new screen which lists all available Cross Links. The icon appearing next to each entry identifies the linked resource. To return to the original resource, use the back arrow in the upper left corner.

Selecting a Resource

The home screen displays a list of available content. To open a resource, select the entry in the list. Some Unbound Medicine applications allow you to edit your subscriptions by logging in to the companion website.

Reminder: The reader works with the navigational features of your Android-based device to help you quickly locate the information you need:

  • Use the trackball OR drag the touchscreen up or down to scroll, to select resources, etc.
  • To follow your path backwards, use your device’s back arrow
  • To return to the application’s Home screen, you have several choices:
    • Tap Menu on your device; then select the Home button.
    • From within a resource, select the application’s icon in the top banner

You may also jump from any resource to the table of contents of another resource

  • Tap the small icon that appears in the top left corner of the display
  • Select the resource you wish to open from the scrollable list that appears

Hint: you can return to the table of contents of the current resource in the same manner.

Selecting an Index

Many resources are organized by multiple indexes, all of which you will find displayed in a list. To select a particular index, simply tap its title.

Selecting an Entry

To find an entry quickly, use the touchscreen to scroll or the "Jump to" feature as described above. To select an entry, tap its title.

Viewing a Record

Depending on the content, multiple subsections may be available when viewing a record. To jump to a particular subsection, click on the sections icon at the top right corner to see a list of available subsections. Tap the desired subsection. The section you are currently viewing will be highlighted in yellow. To return to the record page, use the back button. To select a new page simply tap its title.
